1. Overview
This page explains how to request deletion of your account and associated data for the T-care Plus patient mobile app, operated by T-care Systems Ltd(“T-care Africa”). It applies to the account you create in T-care Plus using your phone number.
Requesting deletion is free. You do not need to give a reason. Once your identity is verified, we delete or anonymise your personal data, except for the limited records the law requires us (or your healthcare facility) to keep — explained in What We Keep below.
2. How to Request Deletion
You can request account and data deletion in either of these ways:
Option A — Email us
- Send an email to tcareafrica@gmail.com from the phone number or email linked to your account, using the subject line “Delete my T-care Plus account”.
- Include the phone number you use to sign in to T-care Plus so we can locate and verify your account.
- We may contact you (for example by sending a one-time code to your registered phone number) to confirm the request genuinely comes from you before we delete anything.
Option B — From within the app (where available)
- Open Profile → Account Settings and choose Delete Account, then confirm.
We will always confirm it's really you.
Because T-care Plus holds sensitive health and identity information, we verify every deletion request before acting on it. This protects you from someone else deleting your account.
3. What We Delete
When your deletion request is verified and completed, we delete or irreversibly anonymise the personal data we control that is associated with your T-care Plus account, including:
- Your account profile: name, date of birth, gender, and contact details;
- Your sign-in credentials (phone number and hashed PIN);
- Identity-verification (KYC) data you submitted through the app, including photographs of your ID document and your selfie / liveness images;
- Next-of-kin / emergency contact details you provided;
- Your in-app booking preferences, notifications, and app settings;
- Your push-notification device token.
4. What We Keep & For How Long
Some records cannot be deleted on request.
As a healthcare service, we and the facilities you visit are legally required to retain certain records even after you delete your app account. These are kept securely, access is restricted, and they are not used to re-create your app profile.

Medical records shown in T-care Plus are generated and held by your healthcare facility, which is the controller of that clinical data. Deleting your T-care Plus account removes your app-side access and app-side personal data; requests to erase clinical records held by a facility should be directed to that facility. We will tell you what, if anything, must be retained and why.
5. Timeline
After we verify your identity, we action deletion requests within 30 days. Backups are purged on their normal rotation cycle, so residual copies in secure backups are fully removed within a further 90 days. Data that must be retained for legal reasons (see above) is kept only for the required period and then deleted.
